I have recently been told that I have been too hard on CM Alexander. Really? I didn't think so but ok. I'm open. I do realize that recently people have stated what a quick response they have gotten from her office and how helpful everyone has been. OK. So I won't chalk that up to it being election time and go into how I know for a fact that several times, I and people I know, have tried to contact her for assistance and received no or a very little response. I will give her followers the benefit of the doubt.
Can anyone list 3 reasons why she should be given another chance to run Ward 7? Can you name 3 things she has done to improve the ward? (If I hear about the library or Deanwood rec. center one more time, my head is going to pop off!) Can you name 3 things? I'm listening......
The Library/Deanwood Recreational Center? Its already been done. That's past accomplishments and how much difference would that even make when we have a crappy downtown district with little to none economic growth that will actually produce jobs for Ward 7 residents? And I'm sorry-but it doesn't seem like DOES is actually bringing in many jobs for Ward 7 Citizens. Great effort though. Anyway, it is close to voting season so I can aggree with you that politicians seem to always put there best foot foward in order to remain in office and remain. residually paid. For goodness sakes, there have been plans on the books for years concerning the entire revitalization effort for areas in Ward 7 other than the Downtown area and we can't even get the Downtown area straight. Just about every part of the city has plans in the works to improve the area and I'm just not seeing where it is taking off over here. My closing remarks-improve or remove.
ReplyDeleteOh, by the way-I've just read an article on one of the other blogs under the DC Urblog Site, that covered a brief blog about Ray's the Steaks being "closed for renovations" . I should hope that they didn't close permanently because that was the best thing that has happened to that part of Ward 7 for a very long time. It goes to show that the plan for revitalization and development that has been on the books for this community for years, but to no avail or effort is actually harming businesses that are actually considering coming to invest in the area-especially when these so called plans are not being put into motion and generating positive growth. Which further confirms that the current CM is only complying and appearing to be helpful because voting season is very near. However, if she would so happen to remain in office, you can pretty much expect the same damn results at even a slower pace than before. One thing that I've learned in life is to always have a plan b just in case. If things in this community does not improve. I will be another case of the one less-leaving for elsewhere.
